A Fool's Errand

There are a lot of us Chelley fans out there, but unfortunately, our romantic hopes are much like the title to this piece.

I loovvvveeeedddddd Portal 2, and would be excited to see another game featuring the big three, but that seems unlikely. Where would Valve take the story? Would Chell return to Aperture for some reason? Would GlaDOS once again be her enemy? Is there some way to bring Wheatley back? For now I'll just satisfy myself with fanfiction and imagination. Wafflestories livejournal has been the closest to my own hopes and dreams.

So, just thinking....If GlaDOS originally had a human self, (Caroline), doesn't it seem reasonable that Wheatley did too? He honestly seems far more human than GlaDOS, well, except maybe PotatDOS. Her manners of speaking, thinking, and empathizing completely morphed once she was in a root vegetable.

But back to Wheatley; it wouldn't surprise me if he was once an Aperture employee. Near the end of the facility's days, shortly before the time of GLaDOS's awakening, even the scientists were being forced to test. Therefore, when GlaDOS went wild, who better to make a dampening core from than an employee? Right there, completely available, and all their information on file. Maybe, just maybe, they left Wheatley's real body intact somewhere, locked up in mindless hibernation...maybe......maybe Chell could get Wheatley back from....See? Fool's errand. Not going to happen. But fun to think about.
